Blooming Hope: A Day of Community and Gratitude

Blooming Hope was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with open hearts.

What started as a simple idea—gathering to make bouquets—became something much more meaningful. Families, friends, longtime supporters, and new faces came together to spend time with one another, create something beautiful, and share space. Moments like these remind us how powerful community can be, especially for families carrying loss.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this event possible.

A heartfelt thank you to Trader Joe’s in East Sacramento for generously donating the flowers that made the bouquet-making possible. Watching everyone create their own arrangements was such a special part of the day, and your continued support means so much to us.

Thank you to Café Le Vie for providing the drinks and for continuing to support our work. We are so grateful for local businesses that believe in what we are building.

We also want to thank Nothing Bundt Cakes, Elk Grove and Crumbl Cookies, Delta Shores for generously donating raffle prizes that added something fun to the day.

A special thank you to Nel Goyma for providing the wonderful food and to Trinette Chow for the delicious and beautifully made cookies. 

Thank you as well to Aura Jewelry for contributing to the event and donating a portion of your proceeds to OCF. 

We are also deeply grateful to Jen and Richard for speaking and sharing their story. Your openness and willingness to talk about grief created such a meaningful moment for everyone who was there.

And most importantly, thank you to Greenhaven Neighborhood Church and to everyone who came. To those who have supported us from the beginning, and to those who joined us for the first time—your presence means more than you know. Every conversation, every bouquet, and every shared moment helped create a space filled with love, remembrance, and connection.

There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but days like this remind us that we are not doing it alone.
