We are humbled, honored, and filled with gratitude to share that the Olivia Chan Foundation has been recognized as one of Sacramento’s “Nonprofits of Distinction” for 2025 by Mayor Kevin McCarty and his office.

Out of more than 15,000 eligible nonprofits, OCF was chosen as one of just 30 organizations making a profound difference in the lives of others across our region. This recognition reflects the collective love, dedication, and support from our board, volunteers, donors, community partners, and every family we’ve served.

Why This Matters

This award is more than a recognition—it’s a validation of the mission we’ve been building since the heartbreaking loss of Olivia. It shines a light on the importance of grief support for children and families, and reinforces why we’ve worked so hard to create safe spaces where healing can begin.

Through events like Brewing Hope, our growing peer support programs, and community outreach, we are building toward a future where every grieving child in Sacramento has access to comfort, community, and hope.

A Thank You From the Heart

We want to take a moment to say thank you:

  • To our board members, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to steer our vision with heart and integrity.

  • To our donors and sponsors, who make every program and event possible with their generosity.

  • To our volunteers, who pour their time and love into supporting families.

  • And to our community, who continue to stand with us and share in our mission.

It is because of YOU that this honor is possible. And with this momentum, we are one step closer to our ultimate goal: opening a grief center in Sacramento dedicated to supporting children and families through their most difficult journeys.

Join Us on the Journey

This recognition reminds us that our work is just beginning. There are still so many families who need hope, healing, and connection—and with your continued support, we’ll be there for them.
